LGE Design Build is a premier design-build construction firm based in Phoenix with an industry-leading reputation built on 26 years of experience. For over 1,200 completed projects, the LGE team has delivered award-winning designs with unmatched integrity and craftsmanship.
We had the pleasure of being approached by LGE last year with the hopes of collaborating to create a visually stunning marketing book that could be easily transported through various client meetings. Their goal with this book was to highlight their unique process in which they manage projects, showcase their amazing work along the way, and create a sales tool for their seller-doers.Â
LGE was very strategic and intentional in developing this book and took their time to perfect it. Over the course of several months, we spent a significant amount of time on writing and developing content, which included interviewing key members of the LGE team, designing the book closely with the Marketing Director, and managing the overall project with the LGE Team, TankGirl, and printer.
Planning and Management
This project required plenty of in-person time. We scheduled weekly meetings with LGE to maximize our creative potential while brainstorming content, layout, and execution.
Writing and Interviews
We spent tons of time thinking about and researching what makes LGE unique. This included interviewing employees to understand how they perceive the company, as well as creating their voice in the marketplace. From there, we took our time to streamline the messaging and find the right voice. This included getting to know the owner of the company and the deep history behind LGE.
Design and Execution
Before we even opened InDesign, we spent hours with our printer determining paper choices, binding techniques, and even creating mockups of several paper combinations that we ended up using in the final design. Once in the design stage, we took the time to really collaborate and discuss ideas for way- finding within the document, staged photography when the ideal photo wasn’t available, and were lucky enough to work with a client who had plenty of high-end photographs and plenty of amazing art direction. We included hand-drawn elements and used type as art. Playing was key.
